The symptoms of COVID-19 are rather non-specific and some patients can remain asymptomatic all along while still being infectious. The only way to capture the COVID-19 cases in our community is through enough testing. Only when we know who the patients are, we can perform quarantine and contact tracing to stop the disease from spread. Testing is the key to fight COVID-19.

The total number of tests performed in the recent 14 days (per million population) is a useful indicator to compare among differnt countries, the recent (as opposed to historical) testing capacity deployed in response to the recent level of COVID-19 cases.
